Billie Van May was born on July 8, 1930 in Sheridan, AR. He attended Sheridan High School and graduated in 1948. Upon graduation, Mr. May began working for Brown Paper Co. as a member of the survey crew, and then in forestry management.
In 1950, Billie Van was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for two years. After his Army service, Mr. May returned to Brown Paper Co until 1956 when Brown was sold to International Paper. At that point, Mr. May worked for International Paper in forestry management, office administration, road construction and maintenance.
Mr. May retired in November of 1991 and started working with Shelby Taylor Trucking in January 1992 as Head Forester.
